Hunger and Homelessness Week Service Project: The Grocery Spot

Thursday, November 3rd, 2022 from 10:00am to 2:00pm (ET)

About The Grocery Spot:

The Grocery Spot is a community supported, pay what you can, free grocery store and event space. We offer a free shopping experience to anyone who may need it. Members of the community that can donate either monetarily or with food are encouraged to do so.

Our mission is to improve food access and fight for food justice as well as provide a safe space to gather, learn, and grow.

“Dialogues, community activities, open conversations, mutual support, knowledge sharing and experience sharing often translate into a process of collective learning and collective growth.”

Volunteers will be expected to help with various tasks such as greeting people, stocking shelves, unloading food donations, cashiering, and cleaning. Please let us know when you get there what you are/can’t help with!

Tennis shoes or closed toe nonslip/slip resistant shoes are required. No Sandals

Transportation: Transportation will be provided. Please meet in Student Center West Suit 475 at 9:30am for transportation to the service site.
